Sustainability is a priority for many organizations, for Delta/BJDS it is our mission.

Delta/BJDS’ first step to make the shift to sustainability was from pollution control to pollution prevention. Pollution control means cleaning up waste after it has been created.

Pollution prevention focuses on minimizing or eliminating waste before it is created. Much like total quality management, pollution prevention strategies depend on continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and energy use. This transformation is driven by a compelling logic: pollution prevention pays. Emerging global standards for environmental management also have created strong incentives for companies to develop such capabilities.
